RB750UP PoE output vs 2SHPn draw

Tue Jul 15, 2014 5:53 am

hi all-

In real-world application, would an RB750UP be able to power a pair of Metal2SHPns? The specs for RB750 indicate it supports up to 500mA output, but the 2SHPn indicates its max draw is up to 11.5W, which could be up over 1A..

Do any other RB-series support this output if the 750UP is not adequate?

in real world situation when you have RB750UP updated to latest RouterOS you have the limit on 1A on the port.

And in real world situation Metal2SHPn will not be stressed out at maximum transmit power all the time and maxed out CPU. That is measured maximum power draw of the unit. with connected clients/connected to AP it will use 3 to 4 watts.
