[SOLVED] CRS125-24G-1S-RM cpu load on idle

Tue Dec 09, 2014 6:49 pm

Hi, I wrote to mk support because I received a few hours ago this switch. powered on, configured lan ip, a route to be able to access to internet, set up ntp client and nothing else. cpu load on idle is between 11-18%. reboot, upgraded ros to 6.23 and fw to 3.19 and cpu continues with that load.
what's happens??

Re: CRS125-24G-1S-RM cpu load on idle

mine gone haywire couple of days ago... i have this:
[admin@Mikrotik] /ip service> /sys reso print
                   uptime: 1d4h11m30s
                  version: 6.23
               build-time: Dec/04/2014 14:46:06
              free-memory: 100.4MiB
             total-memory: 128.0MiB
                      cpu: MIPS 74Kc V4.12
                cpu-count: 1
            cpu-frequency: 600MHz
                 cpu-load: 100%
           free-hdd-space: 109.3MiB
          total-hdd-space: 128.0MiB
  write-sect-since-reboot: 1003
         write-sect-total: 465754
               bad-blocks: 0.1%
        architecture-name: mipsbe
               board-name: CRS125-24G-1S
                 platform: MikroTik
then i checked /tool profile, and saw this:
[admin@Mikrotik] /ip service> /tool profile
NAME CPU USAGE
www all 0%
snmp all 0%
ethernet all 0%
serial all 3.5%
console all 3%
firewall all 0.5%
networking all 15%
logging all 6.5%
management all 13%
profiling all 0%
unclassified all 58.5%
reboot does not help. prior to 6.22 I did not had this issue. I fled towards 6.23, but i had to plug the cord, as the box could not reboot itself when i was trying to upgrade software. at that time i had 3 "unclassified" rows in profile, *each* of them consuming like 50%... kind of strange, cause it produces more than 100% load :-)

could not reproduce this odd behaviour.

Re: CRS125-24G-1S-RM cpu load on idle

Support answered my email. Here's the answer:
Hello,

Constant ~10% CPU load with default configuration is considered as normal for CRS
switches. Few percents are utilized by enabled LCD touchscreen and rest is mainly
internal processes which interoperate with switch-chip and manage all 25 ports.
It is neither software nor hardware problem, the CRS devices work in that way.

Janis B.
