RouterBOARD 493G - Devices seems to be dead.

Fri Jan 16, 2015 4:37 pm

Hello,
I've got a problem with RouterBOARD 493G.
I just wanted to upgrade packages from version 5.14 to 6.15 and after reboot i have found this issue via serial port:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RouterBOOT booter 3.18

RouterBoard 493G

CPU frequency: 680 MHz
Memory size: 256 MiB
NAND size: 128 MiB

Boot configuration reset, applying defaults
writing settings to flash... OK

Press any key within 2 seconds to enter setup..
writing settings to flash... OK
trying bootp protocol............... failed
kernel loading failed

loading kernel from nand... OK
setting up elf image... OK
jumping to kernel code
Starting...
failed to open /dev/flash: No such file or directory
Resetting system configuration...
Generating SSH DSA key...
Starting services...

Demo license expired!
Please reinstall the router.

connect failed (errno=2)
connect failed (errno=2)
connect failed (errno=2)
connect failed (errno=2)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After reboot i did "reset booter configuration" and from this point the Routerboard's green LED diods (LD41-44) are lighting and device seems to be dead.

I've got here 3 more devices with similar issues.
Do you have any idea whats wrong and how to fix it?
Thanks.

Why would installing a MicroSD card on the board make a difference? This seems like a very non-intuitive suggestion.
