RBcAP2n / PoE

Wed May 20, 2015 11:55 am

Hello,

I'm trying to get RBcAP2n powered by PoE (not passive) with no success.
The product page says it supports 802.3at, whereas the quick guide says it supports 802.3af with crossover cable.
I tried different crossover cable pinouts found here, none seems to work.
The PoE host is Cisco SG500X-48P switch (supports both 802.3af and 802.3at).
So, I wonder if RBcAP2n does suport any PoE except passive?
If it does, what is the proper crossover cable pinout?

The product page and the quick guide were silently updated.
Now both say "passive PoE only".

It seems Mikrotik cAP2n or mAP2n does not support 802.3af as was sad at first release :(

I'm wondering why it wasn't corrected this issue in half year, cAP2n wasn't available first half of this year.

And why the cAP2n wasn't upgraded at least to 300Mbps / 2 chain support?????????

The entry level Unifi is 2x more powerfull, it has 20dBm(100mW) Tx Power instead of cAP's 17dBm(50mW), and 300Mbps instead of 150Mbps.
But also I think if you test 2x cAP2n instead of 1x Unifi, the network stability, transfer rates, client number ubnt wins.
Maybe if somebody tested this situation can write some test report.

Yes, the unifi has more expensive. For 2 unifi price you can buy 3 cAP's.
And this was there entry level product.

It needs only injector which is included in the package. Like ronniee said, 802.3af is not supported.

What about software?...long time ago I've been used Ubiquiti devices, and software was piece of... compared to RouterOS...
