CCR-1072 PPPoE Performance Test

Fri Aug 21, 2015 3:59 pm

I see that several performance test results are published for the CCR1072.

I would like to see the maximum number of PPPoE connections (1 simple queue per pppoe connection) supported on this device.

Is it possible to have such metrics available ?
CCR1072 hardware wise is a good option to be used as a BRAS.

Please let us know if RouterOS is capable of utilizing the device properly in a typical BRAS setup.

Re: CCR-1072 PPPoE Performance Test

Outside of MikroTik, I think we have published more performance metrics on the CCR1072 at http://www.stubarea51.com than anyone else, so we can definitely look at putting it into our growing list of requests for the 1072 since we have one in our lab.

Right now we are in the middle of the following tests:

20 Gbps / 40 Gbps / 80 Gbps iperf throughput tests at both 1500 MTU and 9000 MTU
20 Gbps / 40 Gbps / 80 Gbps iperf throughput tests over L3 / MPLS
20 Gbps / 40 Gbps / 80 Gbps iperf throughput tests over VPLS
Throughput tests over various tunnel protocols to see where the limits are (EoIP, SSTP, etc)

We can certainly add PPPoE to the list to see how it performs although it may be a little bit before we get to it since we only have one 1072 right now. :-)

Stay tuned!

Yes that would be great to see the some test regarding the aggregation services performance of CCR1072.
Dont forget to simulate a 1mbit queue per PPPoE client while testing please so it comes close to the real world conditions.
I will be regularly checking your site.
Thanks :)

Can a 1072 handle like 10000 PPPoE concurrent session with 2 queue per user ?

And plans upto 10Mbps.
