RB 411GL + R52nM - weird slow downs / latency spikes :( Please help!

Mon Sep 28, 2015 2:05 am

Hi everyone,

I've got a rather weird problem with my 411GL. I use it with R52nM WIFI card to provide WIFI to in my home. It was all nice and dandy for some time, but recently I started having weird slow-downs and even much worse quality during videocalls. I managed to track it down to weird behaviour where every 10-12 seconds, latency jumps sky-high and throughput goes massively down (I mean from ~ 140Mbit/s to 1-2Mbit/s). See below:

10.17.17.60 is the the AP itself.

I tried downgrading firmware - no improvement. I tried upgrading firmware, currently running 6.33rc15. Still the same.

My WIFI configuration is as following:

I also tried many different frequencies (including auto with radar detection); still the same.

The clients are all Apple devices (iPhone 6, iPads, Macbook Retina 13" 2014 and 2015 models). Also, I'll just add that at work, where we've Cisco Meraki based solution this issue is not happening...

Any advice / ideas / suggestions very much welcomed!
