Wed Sep 30, 2015 2:36 am

Hi Experts,

Which hardware do you recomend me for a PTP 50km wireless link?

Any special configuration?

Thank you in advance.

At 5GHz or at some licensed band?
Half or full duplex?
Required capacity?
Which type of traffic should go through the link - web surfing clients or voip/iptv or ?

I´ll use 5Ghz band, full duplex, requiered to pass about 100Mbps and traffic will be voip and web sirfing.

Thanks.

My recommendation will be

2x BaseBox 5's with Ubiquiti Rocket Dishes, 30dBi RD-5G30's.

Remember to get an adapter plate otherwise the BaseBox will be unable to mount to the dish

When you do a frequency scan at both sides of the 50KMs, how clean is the 5GHz band how many channels already in use and what signal strength?

For 50km and "high capacity", I'd use a high performance and quality antenna.

For example, you could install Jirous JRC-32 Duplex + Netmetal5

If you have clean spectrum, you can save some money with RocketDish34 and same Netmetal5
