hello,

i have big problem.
i replaced my OmniTIK with NetMetal 5 + 13DB omni antenna .
same configuration, same place ,same clients but issue is
when CPE receive from OmniTIK the signal strengths more than 40db
and same client when receiving from netmetal the signal strengths less than 25db!!!

that's my ap config
/interface wireless
set [ find default-name=wlan1 ] ampdu-priorities=0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 \
    default-forwarding=no disabled=no disconnect-timeout=15s frequency=5280 \
    hw-protection-mode=rts-cts hw-retries=15 mac-address=00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx \
    mode=ap-bridge multicast-helper=full nv2-cell-radius=70 on-fail-retry-time=\
    1s proprietary-extensions=pre-2.9.25 radio-name=smartnet5g rate-set=\
    configured rx-chains=0,1 ssid=smartnet supported-rates-a/g=\
    6Mbps,9Mbps,12Mbps,18Mbps,24Mbps tx-chains=0,1 wds-default-bridge=\
    bridge-local wds-ignore-ssid=yes wds-mode=static wireless-protocol=nstreme \
    wmm-support=enabled
/interface wireless nstreme
set wlan1 disable-csma=yes enable-nstreme=yes framer-limit=4000 framer-policy=\
    best-fit

and my CPE config
/interface wireless
set [ find default-name=wlan1 ] disabled=no disconnect-timeout=15s frequency=\
    auto hw-retries=15 mode=station-wds name=wlan1-gateway \
    proprietary-extensions=pre-2.9.25 radio-name=hzaz rate-set=configured ssid=\
    smartnet supported-rates-a/g=6Mbps,9Mbps,12Mbps,18Mbps,24Mbps \
    wds-default-bridge=bridge1 wds-ignore-ssid=yes wds-mode=static \
    wireless-protocol=nstreme wmm-support=enabled

-25 si a higher signal than -40.
You have to reduce power to get a good connection. Set frequency mode "regulatory domain", choose your country, and set antenna gain as much high you need to reduce power according to your antenna and radio.
Your clients shouldn't get more than -50

Are you talking about the SNR db level? In that case, higher number = stronger signal.

If your looking at the -db levels, the higher the number, the worse the signal.

If your signals actually did drop, then, what I've witnessed from this type of conversion, your OMNI could have a built-in downtilt on the beam. Compare to the OMNI-Tik.
