4G solution

Tue Mar 22, 2016 3:13 pm

Hi,

I want to build a 4G router to provide wifi in mobile assets (taxis, buses, etc.) and I'm not sure about the exact configuration to use.
According what I saw in the documentation I should get:
- Router RB411U
- Case CAOTS
- Wireless adapter R52N
- 4G modem (like Huawei ME909)

Is this correct? Do Mikrotik has 4G modem?
Thanks!!

How did you find such old hardware?
Use 912 series hardware or 951ui. Cheaper and better, less work for assembly.

Hi,

I don't want to use USB modem but some MiniPCI-e solution, this is why I got to the RB911U.
As far as I know, the 951ui doesn't support MiniPCI-e, so maybe the 912 is a better solution...
Do you think is the best solution?
Thanks!

This one has built in wireless AP and also a miniPCI-e slot for 4G modem:
