EAP-SIM authentication

Sat Jul 23, 2016 2:09 pm

Can one configure any Mikrotik router as a WiFi *client* using EAP-SIM authentication?

I want to use WiFi hotspots like the ones in the London Underground and the French freewifi_secure network.  These are WiFi hotspots that one connects to using (normally) a mobile phone. Authentication is automatic using credentials from the mobile phone's SIM card.  Thus for a router to do this it must be able to read a SIM card and then use the key obtained to authenticate with the hotspot.

It can be done, I managed it with a Raspberry Pi and a USB SIM card reader but I'd prefer a way to do it with a 'proper' router.
