hAP ax lite no WiFi in default config? [solved]

Thu Jan 18, 2024 3:09 pm

Good day,
I am progressing slowly , but still a total newbie to MT.
Today I wanted to simply play around with my new hAP ax lite - L41G-2axD.
Just to play, learn and become more familiar with ROS.
At some point I screwed up and had to do the netinstall which worked fine, however there is no more WiFi in the default config.
I tried the two different reset modes, tho normal one and the caps, no WIFI in either one.
I searched the MT page, but the default configuration page https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ ... igurations talks about "AP Router config", but the attachements list doesn't contain a file for that.
Before trying to build "something" by myself I'd prefer to restart with a working default...
thanks for helping me getting back on track :?

this is how the config looks like

Re: hAP ax lite no WiFi in default config?  [SOLVED]

Thu Jan 18, 2024 4:49 pm

Since 7.13 wireless hardware on your device requires installation of optional package called wifi-qcom (part of extras archive ,available from https://mikrotik.com/download/ ... mind, it's not wifi-qcom-ac ).
After you install it (upload the npk file and reboot device), reset the device to factory defaults (again) to get default wifi config. If you made any config you're not able to recreate in a blink of an eye, export config to text file and fetch that file off device before resetting the config. Then open exported config using text editor and use it as reminder of what you have to re-create.
