mixed WDS and non-WDS

Thu Apr 15, 2010 8:47 pm

Sorry if this has been answered, can't find it anywhere in the forums...

Can i use WDS on an AP, as well as have some clients that are non-wds? I see they both connect, one has WDS=yes and the other is wds=no. Can this work? Is it just like having 2 different subinterfaces on the same wlan card? I would like to not have to use station-psuedobridge on clients but still want non-wds clients to work as well.

of course you can mix, the different betwen wds an station is wds is a transparent layer 2 link, and the station is used like a MAT (mac address translation)

having trouble connecting to non-wds clients though, is there something that needs to be set on the AP in order to be able to connect to both WDS and non WDS clients either by mac or IP?
