V5.14 issue with DHCP on ports 2,3 using 433ah

Thu Mar 08, 2012 10:27 pm

I have discovered issue with V5.14 + RB-433AH (note this the second 433ah using v5.14), setting up DHCP server with nat masquerade on ether1 it will work OK but setup DHCP for ether3 and with nat masquerade it will not work properly (same for ether2), it will assign IP address to client but will not ping beyond ether3 or 2, attached is picture of ether1 which nat can be accessed and ether2 which shows nat options greyed out and ether3 Out-interface "unknown"

if you don't use v5.14 (or whatever is the latest), you will not get any support and even on the forum you won't get any real assistance. We release versions for a good reason.
To be able to roll back to a previous working version and the reason for upgrading was for performance reasons, Mikrotik should list previous versions and not the latest and then 4.17 as Legacy, thanks to helpful forum user I was able to download a previous version but as mentioned they should be in the Mikrotik Archive.

Mikrotik must be praised for doing a good job but it needs in my opinion to use the power of it’s scripting system to quickly test basic configurations with all ports + wlan connected as in this case the 433ah it would have spotted that on ports 2+3 the 433 lost connectivity beyond the dhcp ip range (i.e. dhcp 192.168.10.0/24 on ether 3 ) so ether1 on 10.150.0.1 it will not ping.
