Mikrotik Spectrum Analyzer?

Sun Jul 14, 2013 6:58 am

We've been having to connect a UBNT product to do a spectral analyzer lately. Does Mikrotik have plans for doing anything similar? The "freq usage" isn't really worth a darn. I heard somewhere you can get a better view using the terminal?

Followed the Wiki, put in WLAN1 for the 'number', all I get is an error:

[admin@Airport to Sheep RL] /interface wireless> spectral-scan
number: wlan1
failure: allowed ranges [4790; 6110]

most likely your device doesn't support 2ghz range as by default it tries to use 2ghz.
Try to use such command:
/interface wireless spectral-scan wlan1 range=5ghz

There is a gui in Dude. But you are right - it will be a very good addition to winbox.

This is on the linked page ( http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Spectral_scan ): "Currently, this feature is supported only for Atheros AR92xx, AR93xx and is NOT supported for Atheros 802.11ac chips (e.g. QCA98xx)."

But on the last picture this scan run on an HAP AC device witch has a QCA9558 SOC. So this feature run or not on HAP AC? Or run it on only 2.4Ghz? Is the 5Ghz (AC) support on the TODO list?

Open source driver (eth10k) support spectral scan for QCA98xx chipset family
