New R52Hn really slow

Wed Sep 25, 2013 9:00 pm

I had an old radio board and replaced it with a R52Hn on a RB411. I am not very good with all the router configuration but know enough to at least make it work, kind of.

The RF is showing -60 dBi at my wireless workstation. My old Linksys router which is the backup (using them one at a time) is showing the same. On speedtest.net I get 25MB down on the Linksys. On my Mikrotik I am getting 3MB down.

So basically its working but slower than heck. I really dont know what to look at. I looked at every screen trying to guess but nothing I tried made a difference.

The tech at Titan Wireless told me I only need ONE antenna which I had from the previous board. It is plugged into the antenna plug that is basically in the center of the board at the top. Maybe it needs 2 antennas? The RF signal looks good so I am not sure?

Anyone have an idea what to look at?

Look at the HT MCS data rate . Are you running A or N mode. Mine seems to want to default to the lowest rate until I disabled it. Nothing to lose....
