Wed Jan 22, 2014 9:49 pm

Hi bodies
Could any one help me to understand bands and frequencies from basic?
for example in 2Ghz band we have 20Mhz channel what does it mean?and etc.

i appreciate for ur helping me out of this confusing

20 MHz is the bandwidth see link that i have give.

Lets see as example channel 1 this is 2412 MHz with a bandwidth 20 MHz use frequency from 2402 up to 2422 MHz

channel1 2412 with 10 MHz bandwidth = use frequency 2407 MHz up to 2417 MHz

How wider the bandwidth means more speed but less stable and less far the link
How smaller the bandwidth means less speed but more stable and further link

Sorry for my bad englisch but i try to help you

If you set your device to use 2412, it doesn't mean it will work only in this frequency - this is only the center frequency. The device will actually use 2407 MHz up to 2417 MHz like plisken said. This means 20MHz band width.

No, there are different bands in different frequencies. 40MHz could give you more speed, but it will interfere with other devices, and works well in clean environments. Some people need more devices at the same location, so they choose 5MHz band.
