RB2011UAS-2HnD speed issue with 3g-LTE USB

Mon Mar 03, 2014 6:46 pm

Hello there,
I searched a lot around and saw this thread: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php ... 2&p=336826
saying that it is a known issue with a PPP connection.
But should work if my key is detected as an LTE interface !

My key is a huawei e3276 wich is a LTE USB modem but I cannot see the key in my Interfaces.
If I create a PPP connection, it is too slow. Not even on LTE connection, my cel phone goes at 19 Mbps in download and 22 Mbps upload.
The Mikrotik goes at 0.9 Mbps in download and same thing upload.

If I plug that Key inb my laptop, it goes faster then on my phone !

Is there anything I should do to speed it up ?
I found a modem that can be use in bridge mode so that the Mikrotik does the connection with no PPP but it will cost me a lot without knowing if it really works !

Thank you very much,
Martin L.

There will be no LTE interface in interfaces?

Look at this example, in dutch but follow the printscreens

Thank you, I followed this link before I post and that is why I said I do not see LTE interfaces !
Maybe because de USB modem is LTE but does not get LTE where it sits !

If the USB stick plugged in must you reboot the routerboard.
See than if the LTE is there.
If not probably is this modem not compatible.

Sure I did try to reboot the router !
But I might already have created a PPP connection with the USB port before I reboot.. might it be the reason why it is not in the interface list ?

Or is there anyway to have it working at a decend speed using a PPP connection ?
The connection works but is too slow ... there should be a way to have it working with 3G usb modem ... no ?

I tried to disable my PPP connection and then reboot the router, still no LTE interface !

I can't believe I have so much problem with these Mikrotik, if I knew all this I would never have went that way !

First I had problem with the SD card in my RB493... even tho I bought one compatible from the list it keeps on disconnecting so useless.

Then I bought one for my home, the wireless is so poor... even the ping goes from 2 to 800 all the time.

Then I figured the USB port is always switching from USB2 to USB3 on this RB2011UAS-2HnD so I cannot have a real recovery plan with 3G modem because I always have to reboot the rooter.
And now this ... very VERY slow connection on PPP connection.

Seams like I have 2 choice:
-Throw all my Mikrotik away and go with real brand
-Buy a Bridge mode modem that "should" work and hope this is the last bug I have with these !!!

Mikrotik devices are realy good, but you must learn about it.
What routerboard have you home with bad performance?

I have the rb750 (little white one).
I did read a lot about the wireless, did a LOT of test with different config but none are working.
Looks like the wireless card used is not good. Or the driver used in RB firmware isn't perfect for the device.
Even localy .. pinging my laptop from my PC, I get 2-3 ms and then 800-900 for 3-4 seconds, even some timeout !

Well anyway, my big concern now is that 3G usb Modem, I really should find a way to have it working :(

I have been thinking what wireless belongs.
You have by wireless interface at "HT" all the chains selected?
See printscreen
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
