run-after-reset did not run rsc file

Thu Mar 13, 2014 1:04 am

Had AP failure so I edited a backup.rsc and removed mac address's, placed into files on replacement the AP
tried system reset run-after-reset=backup.rsc, the router reset but did not run the rsc file,

Also I noticed not only on this router but many others, when pasting some rsc files into terminal the router reboots!

I have to split the rsc file into sections and then paste these sections into terminal, is this normal

I'm new at using Mikrotik config files and frequently find that my config script won't run when using the run-after-reset function. When this happens I will reset the device again with no default config and use the terminal to import the script. This frequently gives me a line and column error reference that leads me to the script problem which can be any number of things.

I am thinking of using safe mode http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Console#Modes to test the rsc files first before committing the reset!
