BaseBox5 PtP 20km wireless link

Thu Mar 27, 2014 12:21 am

Hi folks

Recently I bougth a pair of BaseBox 5 with ARC Wireless 30dbi antenna for point to point link (~25km), whenver I have some questions:

1) How can turn on the leds in the AP side while the antena pointing aligment ?

2) I have low signal strength, the antennas are correctly aligment, same link with Rocket M5 /30dbi antennas get -65dbm

The BaseBox's are configured as Bridge->Station pseudobridge with NV2

That's all.

Thanks for reading my post.

25km? At this distance, if both radios are perfectly configured and aligned (and Fresnel Zone respected), you can reach 180Mbps @ 20MHz + 20MHz with 5GHz-n with NV2

Fresnel Zone:

1) You can not.

2) ...

Why use Bridge->Station pseudobridge???

If are a PtP you MUST use (ap-)bridge + wds -> station wds for better performance.

Hi.

Thank you for reply.

Now the antennas are correctly aligned, the signal strength is ~59dbm, my problem basically was resolved when I activate the chan1 in both sides TX/RX.

Thanks once more time.

You should use Bridge - Station Bridge for a transparent L2 link between RBs

There is no need to use wds

Thank you for the replies

Finally, I actived the chan2 in the BaseBox and the signal strength was -65.
Whenever I has low CCQ.

Tha AP heigth is 15 m and the client side 12 mt

using ap-bridge -> station wds

Check the fresnel, i have a link that is in the same conditions, but with a capacity of 95/95 Mpbs or 190 Mpbs agreg. (limited by a poe patch panel 10/100Mpbs). The CCQ is about 95% and the signal -57dbm. the antennas are 30DBi dishes, without radome and shields.

If u need some help, just call.!!!
