We are a small WISP with around 350 customers. We are testing a UBtik link before we deploy it. It will be replacing our main link to our supplier. The issue that we are having is we are not getting the expected bandwidth out of the UBtik link. We are only getting 34 mbs up and down. We were expecting much more out of it :/. I wanted to check with everyone here to see if you guys could help narrow down the problem.

The setup is two RB912UAG-5HPnDs on two Ubiquiti 2ft 30 dbi Rocket Dishes at a 10 mile distance with clear line of sight.

Maybe too strong signal. Try to use regulation first. Then try without nv2. Try different frequency.

why only one chain is used?

It turns out the main issue is how we were setting up the bandwidth test. When we switched to a direct btest from rb912 to rb912 and we got the bandwidth throughput we were expecting. Right now it's pulling 110 mbs both ways. That will be good enough for replacing our main link for now. I did add the second chain and that helped a bit. Thank you for your help guys!

This is a powerful routerboard, i have got RB 411GL with R52Hn this is similar like that your device, i have tested with ftp server, and in a test environment on 2,4 Ghz i have achieved sometimes 150-170 Mbit/sec tcp speed in one direction, but 17 km is obvious different situation. Anyway i am using OSPF in my Mikrotik test network. I am trying to develope my network knowledge.

Ap: bridge
Station: station-bridge

First with 802.11 N and then with NV2 as well. I do not know Ubuquiti's antenna.
I think your CCQ and signal strenght are excellent, maybe you should try to play with the tx power on both sides, according to my experience -60dBm signal strenght is the best. About ARC Wireless i never use that antenna, I have no idea how are quality.

If you have used one dish antenna J&L 24dBm you reach -50 @ 2,6Km.....

The fresnel zone is not 100% clean, i know it should be around -50 dBm, but the link working very well, and i think 50 Mbit/sec tcp speed a nice performance from the 411 on 2,6 km, maybe this is the limit of this device.

However, are you talking about Jirous antennas ? I heard about them, good quality, and affordable prices.

110 Mbit/sec tcp speed ? I mean 55/55 Mbit sec, aggregate traffic

probably You haven't enabled second chain...
you should get 270-300mbps wireless tx/rx rate instead of 150M which is typical for one chain radio.

please go and check HT settings.
