One CPE Multiple Client

Wed Apr 16, 2014 6:28 pm

Hello Mikrotik Experts,
I need to know some thing about WISP setup. It's been couple of months I started researching on Mikrotik & Ubnt forum.
1. For 1-10km Redius from base station (with perfect LOS)which Radios are best, MT or Ubnt? as I read lots of manual,MT's Radios are pretty high configuration than Ubnt. On the other hand Ubnt providing easy OS.
2. There is a small office around 1km away from my proposed Base Station. I want to connect about 15 PC's using single SXT Lite 5 with 512kbps bandwidth for each of the pc's of that office. Is it possible by using switch? or any good advice. Can I manage all the 15 PC's from the central RB2011UiAS of my Base Station?
Please advice me the best way to satisfy my clients at low cost solution.
Thanks for reading...

Your on Mikrotik forum - so naturally we will recommend Mikrotik always :D

First do a frequency scan and find out if you have a clear (un-used or low usage) channels, as this will determine which equipment is required for the Wireless part of the project,

Thanks for your Replay n21roadie,

I've already done frequency test. 2.4 ghz & 5.8 both are free here. its a very small rural area. there are only four moble phone BTS around 1km away from my proposed base station. the cell phone bts r providing EDGE internet, not even 3g.

OK - If I have read correctly you want 10km broadcast radius,
Use sectors to achieve the coverage area required, SXT is OK for the 1Km link
