Your request for lowest ping - NV2 will not give you that, it will give you higher throughput,Hi I have to realize a PTP link with 2 Dual Polarization Dish with 28dBi gain and RB912 5GHz, now I have to choice the best protocol for this short link (3Km). I need a ping as lowest as possible and a throughput about 100Mbps so I'm undecided between NV2 and Nstreme dual, which one should I choose?
Please remember to post here how go!Thanks, I add you Karma.
So I have to exclude nstreme and choice between 802.11N and NV2?Your request for lowest ping - NV2 will not give you that, it will give you higher throughput,Hi I have to realize a PTP link with 2 Dual Polarization Dish with 28dBi gain and RB912 5GHz, now I have to choice the best protocol for this short link (3Km). At 3Kms I would use N protocol and 40Mhz channel
Some posters here have reported difficulties with Nstreme using V6+, a search will give more info.So I have to exclude nstreme and choice between 802.11N and NV2?Your request for lowest ping - NV2 will not give you that, it will give you higher throughput,Hi I have to realize a PTP link with 2 Dual Polarization Dish with 28dBi gain and RB912 5GHz, now I have to choice the best protocol for this short link (3Km). The OP requested lowest ping time over a 3Kms distance, fact remains NV2 will not give lowest ping timeAfter 2 Jump (1 ptp nv2 23,5Km + 1 ptp nv2 8Km), 14ms Google.com is too much delay?
With only one jump 2km: 11ms
(I'm on Italy, i have choose Google.com, but Google.it have lower ping delay)

Strange - some of you replies encourage posters to search or read further which is good, but when you are asked to search you appear not to like such a reply?I answer with my experience and production machine, not virtually or theoretically, or with "I have read..."
Nstreme single or dual? Now with Nstreme, i have 16ms delay on Google.com...
Using Nstreme instead NV2 increase latency on MY link.
USer can simply test the configuration, "slave" is auto, master must be set or nstreme or nv2, can directly try.Strange - some of you replies encourage posters to search or read further which is good, but when you are asked to search you appear not to like such a reply?I answer with my experience and production machine, not virtually or theoretically, or with "I have read..."
I have been on this forum for a considerable time and there a lot of helpful tips and advice given , but as always any advice given should be taken as "...it works for me but not may not work for your configuration..."
To simply dismiss what others say or report is not wise move by anyone?
Nstreme, without the "2" or dual is Nstreme single.Nstreme single or dual? Now with Nstreme, i have 16ms delay on Google.com...

I supposed that the dual polarization can suite the n stream dual...What module you add to RB912?Hi I have to realize a PTP link with 2 Dual Polarization Dish with 28dBi gain and RB912 5GHz, now I have to choice the best protocol for this short link (3Km). It's impossible use Nstreme dual if you not add another wi-fi module.
Not, you must two wlan for use nstreme dual, but really I not know if on latest 6.7+ firmware are added nstreme dual using two separate channel instead of two wlan...I supposed that the dual polarization can suite the n stream dual...What module you add to RB912?Hi I have to realize a PTP link with 2 Dual Polarization Dish with 28dBi gain and RB912 5GHz, now I have to choice the best protocol for this short link (3Km). One of the many benefits of using Mikrotik is that you will be able to compare each wireless protocol and see which one works best for you,I think that more than 10ms in the backhaul is a bit much. Are there any improvement in using 802.11n? I used that in ptmp before switching to nv2 and it didn't run bad...
Yes but I mean in theoryOne of the many benefits of using Mikrotik is that you will be able to compare each wireless protocol and see which one works best for you,I think that more than 10ms in the backhaul is a bit much. Yes, I'm waiting for the equipment. Now go and do your tests... it's time.
