RB912UAG fails to recognize R11E mini PCI express

Thu Oct 30, 2014 6:53 pm

Hi...

I installed a R11E-5HACD PCI card on a RB912UAG-5HPnD routerboard and expected the PCI to be recognized automatically as both cards are from Mikrotik - but no luck so far!
I have disabled the USB, i.e. set it to "mini PCIe" and am running Firmware 3.17. I have also rebooted at least a dozen of times. The PCI card is listed as "Device 00:00.0 Vendor Atheros Name unknown device (rev:0)"

Anyone successfully using this combination of cards?

Thanks for any insight,
Thomas

I have 2 of the RB912 2GHz versions running a r11e-5HACD inside and they work just as they should...

Did you enable wireless-fp? R11e-5HACD needs that...

SOLVED: RB912UAG fails to recognize R11E mini PCI express

Thanks for your input!

The wireless-fp package was enabled on the RB912 board, so that was not the cause.
Upgrading from 6.20 to 6.21 did the trick, though. The R11 PCI radio is accessible as wlan2 now, even though I still have the "Device 00:00.0 Atheros Communications unknown device (rev: 0)" entry in the PCI list @ /system/resources/pci...

Cheers,
Thomas
