RB711 link problem

Tue Nov 04, 2014 4:52 pm

Hello all.

I have set up a link between 2 RB711, one is older with uFL connector but other one is newer with mmcx. Link was working for some time, but i wasnt happy with signal strenght and to mmcx type board i couldn't connect, so reinstalled board. Boards are running on panel type antennas.

Now im able to set up link. Bridge - station wds. 5Ghz-5Mhz. signal is -77/-64 looking from AP, CCQ usually 80%/96%. Signal isnt the best one. Im getting disconnect every minute, exactly every minute. AP : disconnecting, extensive data loss.

Is there something that i can do?

I would definitely look at the asymmetric signal readings, why there is 13dB difference between RX and TX signal? Is it single chain or dual chain? what wireless protocol do you use?

Im using nstreme, single chain, link is about 1.5-2km . In my theory its because of some metal roof, what is near link, maybe im wrong(not experienced a lot). Also i have self made mmcx connector because old one was u.Fl and my board got damaged by lightning. Anyway i sent up new 19dBi panel antenna to test signal then.

Seems that problem is solved by upgrading both antennas to 6.21.1v . Upgrading AP didnt do nothing, but when i upgraded station it did the magic. Now CCQ is good almost all time >94% . Connection is stable for 16h now. In weekend i will try out nv2.
