Wireless Key Mismatch

Sun Nov 30, 2014 3:32 pm

To anyone that can help,

I am new to mikrotik, I have setup a RB951-2n as follows:

House has 5 rooms:
Room 1 is onboard wifi
Room 2 - 5 is connected via Tenda AP's (Cable running from mikrotik to each room into AP)
Every port and the wifi is on diffirent IP range so people cant see eachother

So gave every port a range, setup dhcp and route to the gateway on port 1 for interwebs. All works fine.
WiFi on mikrotik has a password, and then every AP has its own different passwords.

Problem though is, pc/laptop connected via cable works no problem, phones/tablets work fine connected via wifi - but when I connect either pc or laptop via wifi I get Wireless Key Mismatch error. Now I've tried changing from AES to TKIP and from WPA to WPA2 but still no cigar.

If anyone has some help that would be highly appreciated. Just again, I am brand new to Mikrotik, this is the first one I work on.

Regards,
Fred

please use only AES and do not use TKIP.
If you want to use different wpa keys for each AP, then you need to use different SSID.

Thank you, each AP has its own SSID, and today when I went back to the client, everybody seems to be able to connect.

So all is sorted.

Again, thank you for the help.
