I've recently bought a wireless card (ar9580) that I'm using in Linux with the driver ath9k. My problem is that the wireless card locked to US, which doesn't match my current location, so I'm not able to use the frequencies that I'm actually allowed to. I've downloaded crda and wireless-regdb, modified db.txt, and signed it with my own key. After reboot it adds a couple of extra frequencies but not the full list. It's really frustrating that it adds a couple of channels, but not the whole list of channels that I'm allowed to use. So I don't know if I'm doing something wrong.
Is there any way to change the EEPROM regdomain? Or should I look at the ath9k driver? If yes - what?
Any help is appreciated.
