comercial web cache for dynamic content?

Wed Mar 25, 2015 1:38 am

Hi we are a small WISP with 120-150 users under mikrotik+ubiquiti is working.
We want to invest in more stuff because we need to grow.

Our requirement we are searching is, what others WISP are using to save bandwidth caching youtube and site like, fb, u know the type of portals that eat your bandwidth.

We want to use a cache to help us here, others may say 'why u want to do that'? maybe a user watch a video of 30MB and share to his neighbor, the 2nd doesn't need to go out and download again the same object, this save time and resources.

Squid, I have use squid for long time and is not for dynamic content, I have try and is hard to maintain and sites change their systems constantly.

Lusca-cache the development is not current and no support.

We watch fortigate-forticache expensive.

If u are using something to help u I will appreciate the info to look.

Thanks for your time and any comment will be appreciated!!!

Try Thundercache. It can save us a lot of bandwidth.

Is on the list, continue waiting to receive my trial.

What size in disk u have there with thundercache?

What setup have your server?

raid?

How many users cross your server?

If we move to Thundercache I'm thinking in build server with supermicro add 8-10 disk, setup raid1 no raid5 for speed and have 4 raids and add those to Thundercache but I still waiting to try.

Thanks Nanflexal.
