Using a RouterBOARD433 and R52 for reduncancy?

Mon Jun 08, 2015 4:35 pm

Hi all,

I'm looking to set up a wifi link with redundancy in the antennas. On one side of the wifi link, one of the antennas might have its signals blocker or even get disconnected. The other side, however, is "safe". I want to be able to send signals between these two sides that are unaffected as long as one antenna can obtain a good link.

In the office where I work I found a RouterBOARD433 and three R52 radio cards. My idea was that I could use this on the "unsafe" side and transmit signals to a pc on the "safe" side. Is it even possible the way I'm thinking? If yes, how do I set up the router board? I don't know if I'm making myself understood, so I made a sketch:

Yes, but "switching" to one of the backups must happen virtually imminent. Even 100-500 ms "downtime" will hurt my system...
