improve my wireless setting QRT G-2SHPnD

Mon Aug 03, 2015 7:15 pm

Hi all,
i have configured the wireless setting of my QRT G-2SHPnD as follow :
2015-08-03_15-33-58.png
Below the export content of wireless setting :
# aug/03/2015 16:00:27 by RouterOS 6.30.2
# software id = QCC4-2T0S
#
/interface wireless
set [ find default-name=wlan1 ] ampdu-priorities=0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 band=\
    2ghz-b/g/n channel-width=20/40mhz-Ce disabled=no frequency=2437 l2mtu=\
    1600 mode=ap-bridge wireless-protocol=802.11
/interface wireless security-profiles
set [ find default=yes ] supplicant-identity=MikroTik

/interface wireless access-list

/interface wireless connect-list
At first, can anyone advise me for point-to-multipoint setting in residential area ?
And at second, I haven't fill the value of "Antenna Gain"...did I need it for better throughput ?

I use the product QRT G-2SHPnD.

You should read manual first.

You should read manual first.
Thanks to reply Jarda. :D

I have already read all wireless section http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Interface/Wireless

where they said that "Antenna gain in dBi, used to calculate maximum transmit power according to country regulations."

Unfortunately my country is not listed "Côte d'ivoire" (west africa), :?:
and I have read somewhere that wrong setting about transmitting can damage the card.
This is why I haven't change value of the antenna gain because I am not sure.

So I ask your advise about of RouterBoard QRTG-2SHPnD wireless setting.
But I have seen on http://routerboard.com/RBQRTG-2SHPnD that Antenna Gain is 17 dBi.
Can I fill the value of "Antenna Gain" even if "country" is on default value "no_country_set" ?

Yes, you can fill that value. You cannot damage the card by any setting as the antenna is connected. Rising the gain value lowers the transmitting power so no value means maximum power. Play with it and see what the opposite side will report as signal level...

Check the country list. Maybe English name of your country is used instead of French name.

@jarda
I was thinking.. when "no_country_set" is selected which power algorithm is used? I always select my country and I'm curious :D

I think that country is effective only when regulatory domain option is set. Otherwise it is not taken into account.

And yes, ivory coast seems to be missing. Lectrapon, you should drop an email to support with request for it.

Does Ivory Coast have regulatory limitations? Setting country makes sense only if your country has some regulations for Wireless limits.

I am not sure with 2.4GHz but I will ask to be sure.
If it is the case, please do not add the Coast of Ivory (or Ivory Coast :? ) but...."Cote d'Ivoire" :D

I doubt they will use French name when all others on the list are English...
