Unable to connect ipad

Tue Aug 04, 2015 11:55 pm

Hi all,

pretty new to mikrotik so pls forgive me in case of any missing info or very easy mistake.

Setup:
mikrotik 951G-2HnD with router os 6.30.2, routerboard to latest firmware 3.24
ipad with iOS 8.4
wifi on the only interface , in AP mode, WPA2 security, ACLs OFF. SSID hidden.

Wifi is not working with this AP, on the other AP I have, non mikrotik, all working fine on same config.
Other devices, laptops, raspberry, set top box: no issue at all.

I then turned on logging, according to these instructions:
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Wi ... Debug_Logs
I then proceeded to connect the iPad, I got the usual error: Unable to connect to "SSID NAME". Went to the logs, there is no single line mentioning the tablet trying to connect, though other events do show up, so I'm pretty positive the logging is happening, also for wifi.
In logs I see this line:
Time Aug/04/2015 22:40:16
Buffer memory
Topics
system
info
Message log rule added by root

This was mentioned in some guide over the interenet regarding iOS devices, I set preamble to "both" and to "short": no luck.
I then crosschecked ACL: mac address is there. Does not work.
I disabled ACL: does not work.

Any idea where to start from?

Thanks

THX for the reply. I read through some posts, they all mention dhcp issues, while I do not even get WiFi connection at level 2.
