It seems that with DHCP the dude server doesnt remember a client if the IP address has changed that it is considered a whole new device and this create problems when some static configs have been done involving snmp, routerOS login and so on. I have another routerboard that connects remotely via vpn with the router running dude as the vpn server and everytime when the routerboard reconnects the dude server tries the default routerOS login since the IP address is different.

Isnt there any sort of tracking relating to the mac address, device name or domain?

You can reconfigure that in each device settings how it is bound to dude, by ip to mac or mac to ip.
