Monitoring the routing

Sat Apr 02, 2016 12:25 pm

I have configured Dude to monitor a couple of MikroTik routers and have drawn them on a map
with the links between them (manually).
It nicely shows the current bitrate along the links. And when clicking on the routers I can get all
kinds of detail including the routing tables.

On the map I would like to see the number of routes (prefixes) that are active on each link in each direction.
Is that possible? The information is available, but is it possible to display a quick overview this way?

Have a look at this presentation http://mum.mikrotik.com/presentations/E ... 350837.pdf http://mum.mikrotik.com/2016/EU/agenda

What you need could be done by routeros functions.

Ok... it is clear that it is not a lost case, but I am still quite far from the goal :-)
I will need to find a way to get routes matching a certain interface and count them.
Also it is not clear to me if/how an extra info field from such a route can be attached to a link label.
Finally, it appears that the link info is obtained from one end only (you select 1 router and 1 interface),
and the RX and TX rate are obtained from that end. Of course the route counts have to be obtained
from each end of the link, so it is unclear how that can be bound to a link other than by hard coding
a parameter referring to the other end.

Nice job for a long rainy sunday...
