Login failure

Fri Apr 22, 2016 2:06 am

Hi all,

I've just installed v6.35 on a newly built Win 7 pro box and it's refusing to connect, telling me "Error: Connect failed: 10061:No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it."

I've disabled firewalls but that didn't help. Once I've got it running I need to import settings from a v4.0b3 version running on another machine - will this work or will it also give me trouble?

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers,

Tony

Ok. My bad. I need the server too, installed on yet another box. Going back to 4.0b3.

But how to import settings generated on another pc? I've tried it and it tells me "invalid username and password".

Tony.

While you have the backup file from 4b3. Disable dude. Unpack tgz file and copy the content directly to the storage. Enable dude.

Ok, I tried copying the contents of the backup directly to the local storage and while it's worked for my MIBs and images, there's no sign of my probes, functions, network maps, charts etc. Where does the dude.db file get copied to? I suspect that that's the issue here. It's now on a Win10 box, btw.

This is now sorted. I ran a perl script that extracted the database username and password, which I entered into my dude after importing the db. Everything is back again! :-)
