Anybody have suggestions for how I could setup email notifications using a host name for SMTP server instead of IP address. I've seen examples using Windows server and scripts to resolve IP from host name. But I'm not sure how to update dude smtp server.

I have not tried this but a possible workaround for the issue of The Dude not being able to accept a host name as an SMTP server may be:
1. Put in 127.0.0.1 as the IP address of the SMTP server
2. Set up an SMTP server on the same machine that is running The Dude server (hMailServer is an opensource SMTP server for windows)

That way The Dude will send email messages to its own IP address. The hMail server should then receive those messages and forward them on to wherever you want (hMailServer should be able to have a forwarding SMTP server specified by host name)

Thanks Geoff. I wasn't sure how to add smtp software to RouterOS, but I did get it set up on another Linux server on the same network using postfix.
