How to display up/down device counts in a map?

Fri Sep 18, 2009 12:27 pm

Hi guys,

In one of my maps I would like to display the statistics of total/up/down device counts in a simple way.

Let's say something like this.
I've 1000 devices found by discovery (which runs every 3 hours).
First I have 1000 devices up, none down. That makes my total-devices count 1000.
In the meantime some of them go down.. so the amount of up-devices goes down, the amount of down-devices goes up (logic, I love it.. ;))
After a couple of hours the discovery find another dozen of up devices, adds this to the total-devices and adjust both up-devices and/or down-devices accordingly.

I know this can be done by creating a submap in a different map linking to this one, but that is not the way I want/need it.
I simply need this overview within the map itself, since it's only meant for management purposes and not as much a monitoring need for engineers.
That way I can export the map every now and then so the management will see how many devices go up/down over the time.

I hope I made my point clear, if not please ask for some more information.
Hope anyone is able to help me here.

Regards,
Minollie
