Beta 2-3 Windows XP Bug

by GJS » Thu Jun 23, 2005 12:18 am

I hope this doesn't sound like BS but...

I installed the Dude just after release of the first beta on Windows XP prof. I later found that when I clicked a link to a web page in an Outlook email message that the page would take a very long time to open (several minutes). Thinking it was usual MS behaviour after the machine had been in general use for about 3 years, I re-installed XP on a new hard drive in the same machine.

All was fine until I re-installed latest release of the Dude and now I have the same problem. The problem goes away when Dude server is stopped.

I have Dude running contanstly and haven't seen that issue at all. Office 2003 no problems with outlook opening up at all very fast.

WinXP Sp2
AMD 64 3200+ processor
SATA Drive
1 Gig PC3200 DDR
Nvidia Ti4400 128Meg Video Card
DirectX 9.0c

So I wouldn't expect that it's Dude. Maybe try reinstalling your SP2 and than redoing updates. Possible you got older DLL that has replaced a newer DLL.
