the dude and rb450g v6.x

Sat May 31, 2014 6:57 pm

Has anyone had any issues with the dude package installed on an rb450g with os v6.x?

Something happened about a week after the dude package was uploaded.

All of a sudden the dude server agent stopped connecting to the rb450 and has been unable to reconnect since. I checked all router configurations and can't seem to find anything that would prevent operaton.

I am able to set up a device in the dude server with the wan ip and no agent and can see the router stats.

Thanks

I saw such problems with external disk when store suddenly disconnects and reconnects. Obviously not your case.

Ok. Thanks for the response jarda. I am thinking about re instaling the package. Something may have corrupted the package and was hoping someone would know how/why or may be some other cause. Also want to make sure I wont have issues like with the rb2011 with os v6.xx and the dude package. You know the bricking thing.

One more thing. The date next to the dude package does not look correct.

Yes I know that. I spent too much time trying to get dude running reliably on rb2011. Even I resigned so far, still I am playing with thoughts to try it again with 6.13. But I have lost my belief .

We ended up bricking 2 rb2011's with the dude package. Are there are any simular issues with the rb450? Something related the v6.xx and dude?

The dude is TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO old and outdated.

Using one 3.6 package to one 6.13 RouterOS, is obviously one wrong choice.

For The Dude I use one dedicated PC with 4.0.3 perennial beta version...

That's it: dedicated pc. But sometimes someone does not want to feed dedicated pc if router has enough power and is on the right place in network to check everything... dude, the almost best thing from mikrotik is definitely the biggest shame. We all know how mikrotik behaves to it.
