We're using The Dude 3.6 and it works as well as we need it to.

Upgraded a router and had to remove the package to make room for the upgrade package.
Now I want to reinstall The Dude but can't find the npk files on the download area. I find the Windows programs but I thought the files for the Dude routeros pkg were located on the same place.

Can anyone tell me where the Dude npks live?

Newer RouterOS versions don't support the Dude packages, this causes problems, so we have removed the packages from the download page.

Everyone should keep its library of used software and do not rely on others that they will be providing the download service forever.

That's all fine and dandy, but removing the packages just because newer versions don't support it is pretty much killing the ability to use it at all for those who run versions that it does work on.

Would you please post the files back so we can download backup copies of them? I would rather run older ROS versions and have The Dude than run newer and do without.

I saw some threads about PPC routerboards no longer working with it. At what version did it break?

What about MIPS version, what is the last ROS we can run with it?

And for the person who scolded me for not hoarding copies of old software versions because we shouldn't expect the vendor to have them- We have all paid considerable amounts of money for the routerboards over the years, and YES, some of us expect the vendor to maintain at least the latest copy of all software for download.

Even older versions cause problems on RouterOS. There have been many reports that these packages cause configuration loss in Dude, they are not reliable, so I can't recommend using Dude inside RouterOS with these packages until we fix these issues.

Fully agree. I also had many hard days with dude trying to run it on ros until I gave up. The situation with dude is well known to everyone.

What is the procedure when you want to use the DUDE package as an agent ?

I recently upgraded to 6.18 on a router that had the dude package installed as a separate NPK.

My dude agent is still working but I don't see the dude NPK package anymore.

Is this something to be worried about ? It tells me that the package is already installed.... ??

Interpoint, this was error around 6.18 that it did not displayed dude package even it was installed. Is is corrected in 6.20, but you can uninstall it only and not install again. It's written on the forum around, search for it.
