Can the Dude run a batch on multiple routers?

Fri Oct 17, 2014 1:19 am

Hello all, new user here.

I am looking at ways to update/change configs on multiple routers at a time.

For instance:
- create a temp user on some boards for temporary techs.
- change fw settings
- dnload configs & backups
- etc..

I know there are examples of some of these scripts on the wiki, and many will be useful. However, I was wondering if the Dude could do this? I have looked everywhere (it seems) and cannot find this possibility.

Optimal scenario:
From the dude choose from a dropdown, the list of IP's to run a script/commands on. Next, from another dropdown choose a script-file or list of commands to run.

Basically, I am looking for an existing engine which already contains network topology information as well as restricted choices with regards to the commands available. Maybe this functionality already exists in another product, other than the Dude?

Thanks in advance

Ok I guess not, then.

Before I go building my own php website to do this, is there any interest out there for this functionality?

If so, I could look at a more open framework, maybe hook in to Dude config files?

Any suggestions would be welcome.
