Hello,
I have switched router from one using V6 OS with a new router using V7 OS.
I have restored backup from the old router to the new router.
BGP is established and I am using filters
However I have the following problem so I appreciate if anyone can help me or point me to a direction how to resolve the problem.
On interface 1 I have the peer BGP connection.
On interface 2 I have the main router ip .
In routes default route is shown the peer BGP address.
In V6 OS in ip addresses under interface 2 I had the main ip of the router xxx.xxx.xxx.1/26 and I had one another ip on that interface xxx.xxx.xxx.21/26
In route table I have further subneted that class just for info.
With this setup in V7 OS the class xxx.xxx.xxx.0/24 is not propagated via BGP nor the routes defaults to the default route.
However when I changed the main ip from /26 subnet to /24 subnet BGP started propagating the route and the class defaulted to the default route.
So in short the problem is why BGP does not propagate my subneted C class and why /26 does not defaults to the default route.
Any help is appreciated since currently the router is working with main ip with /24 subnet rather then /26.
Thanks
Alex
