Detection of CAPsMAN AP Type

Wed Sep 27, 2023 2:00 am

Attempting to detect architecture-name of the remote CAPs either from the CAPsMAN or WiFiWave2 equivalent screen. in process of updating a script that goes out and downloads the correct upgrade files from an internal server for both the Router and the needs of the CAPsMAN/WiFiWave2 CAPS's but can not find a way to use "get architecture-name " under the caps-man area. Obviously we could just manual set the script for type needed but was trying to make it more universal.

Already been done the road of just use /system package and check for updates but this doesn't work in our environments as not all devices connect to the outside world.

Nope, trying to detect architecture-name such as arm, arm64, tile, mipsbe, hence which routeros file is needed to upgrade them.

From cli you can run /system resource get architecture-name and it will respond with devices correct architecture-name but under CAPsMAN I have not found a way to detect architecture-name of remote CAPs.

Use a mapping table then.

BTW capsmap ap on wifiwave2 are all arm or arm64, unless I missed something.

Ps idea: use snmp calls with correct OID to fetch architecture ?
