I know that the devices are tested up to 50 deg ambient temp. Any number for max allowed CPU temp?

Should be somewhere in the spec sheet of that processor ?

I could not find any reference to the "Tj.Max" of the "Qualcomm IPQ-6010" SoC.
This limit varies by CPU type and is usually between 100°C and 105°C.
Other sources say that above 85°C there can be possible damage.
In general, it is said that it is recommended to keep the sustained (continuous) temperature below 65°C.

Mine is also 53C in the UK. Co-incidence I hope, rather than a stuck temperature reading!
