"Abandoned" is seem right. No new docs, still on website, but no updates in years... No official communication AFAIK.

Dude does a couple things, visually showing up/down/etc on a "map" & tracking statistics/logs/etc. And, still works just fine...just old...but since it doesn't change, little chance it to be broken ;).

Alternatives depend. If it's more tracking/logging, then @Jonte's SPLUNK (viewtopic.php?t=179960, Splunk costs $, but at smaller RouterOS sizes, it's free),
OR, Prometheus/Grafana are more OSS ( https://prometheus.io/docs/visualization/grafana/ https://prometheus.io ).

I don't know what the current "map" based things, but Zabbix is likely better at the "monitoring" side. But never used Zabbix, so dunno.

New package with old unmaintained code, just to be possible to install it on new ROS version. Logic - while it works ship it...
