No new releases for two years. Is this the end of the line?

i think SWoS works ok for their market

if you need any better Go To CRS Switches using RouterOS, plenty of features

in the case of small switches is a small niche, not too much room from improvement with such a small budget

SwOS have unfixed bugs.

Some products only work with SwOS and have no alternatives.

It's obvious that SwitchOS is a low priority for Mikrotik. Even SwOS lite for the couple of switches it uses keeps getting updates, but full SwitchOS seems to be getting ignored.
As far as moving to RouterOS, I personally find that for pure switch functions, SwitchOS is FAR easier to use. I also have about a half dozen Mikrotik switches here at the house that are all SwitchOS only (one of those stuck on SwOS 1.16). Not spending the better part of a grand to replace perfectly good switches in order to use an OS that is far more difficult to use (for switch functions).

I started home office with three dumb switches for WAN LAN DMZ with PC router.
IMO price spread between similar CRS CSS models is affordable good value.
I added one CRS309 for an iSCSI experiment with three ESXi hosts.
I replaced dumb switches with two CRS326 and really like them.
Recent add was hAP ax3 which is now the core VLAN router.
I dabbled with SwOS but didn't take long to lose interest.
I agree RouterOS is steep learning curve.

*) iSCSI should be near-zero-tinkering stuff - so SwitchOS is a match : )

guys, is SWOS really dead? is there an update coming? there are many devices that don't have the option to switch to routeros, putting in a fan control, cable test, a decent login screen, would help a lot
