Default password not the one on the sticker after reset? L009UiGS-2HaxD-IN [solved]

Sat Jan 06, 2024 6:15 pm

Hey,
i know i know: read the instructions first or just read the frunking manual.
But the new RouterBoard was so nice and shiny that i wanted to winbox it right away - and failed (because i did not pay attention the the sticker with the password on the backside)
Unpaitiently i pressed the reset button, but: no success.

To what default password is the L009UiGS-2HaxD-IN resetting if you reset it with the hardware button next to the power jack?
Neither WLAN login nor winbox works on LAN, ethernet cable on port 1.
Tried both, winbox and winbox64.
I'm left stranded, no chance to play with my new toys...

Any help is appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Daniel

Problem solved: i read a 0 for a O.

Though it might help some folks to mention that the Wifi password differs from the admin/password hardware login combination.
If you want to find yours, go to wireless -> wifi -> security
and in the menu bar of your winbox window: settings -> undchek "hide passwords"

And to finally answer the subject question: the device keeps the sticker password after hardware resetting it.

LOL. I was going to suggest re-reading it for 0 vs O. No slash on 0 and tiny, I'm sympathetic.

I do believe the newest manufactured batches don't use confusing char on the sticker (I'm told).
