Connection lost after 10 or more times

Sat Mar 09, 2024 9:36 am

We have configured our Mikrotik router as a hotspot, connected through Cisco switches, and then connected from the switch to Cisco APs, the problem is just that when connected to the PC through the wireless after 10 minutes or less not work wireless but working Android no problem just the problem is PCs maybe the issue is NAT or filter rules.

Could be potential multiple issues.
More information/tests is required for helpful diagnosis.

What does wireless not work actually means?
Is the wifi disconnecting?
Does the PC get a valid ip address?
From the PC can you ping the gateway?
Can you ping a external ip like 8.8.8.8 but not google.com?

We installed Cisco APs. The APs are connected with no lost connections, but after 10 or 15 minutes, both the Internet and local database systems become inaccessible.
Our network topology utilizes DHCP.
After the data loss, pinging from the PC gateway results in no response.
Pinging 8.8.8.8 results in a 'request timed out' message.

You'll have to post (text export of) hotspot's configuration. As already mentioned, reasons for misbehaviour can be numerous and without seeing the config, we'd be only guessing.

BTW, the reason might not be in hotspot config, all network devices contribute in a LAN and any of them can break the LAN.

Even if there is a problem with the hotspot configuration the fact that lan clients cannot communicate is unrelated to hotspot(unless you use PVLAN or another method of separation).
Either something is happening with DHCP or like mkx mentioned another device in the lan is doing something.
This could also happen at the switch level, possible even a loop in the network.

My idea is that there might be some ARP misconfiguration (perhaps a proxy-arp or some such) and with a large LAN subnet (subnet mask shorter than /20) it may mean that switch FDBs get filled with invalid entries. In such case all traffic gets disrupted ...

I see quite often that people play with ARP settings not knowing what they're doing and why ... and most often one shouldn't have to play with L2 features to "fix" L3 problems (or misconceptions).
