Macbook (Broadcom) optimizations in 5.0rc11..long ping times

Tue Mar 08, 2011 4:32 am

I saw some posts about the NV2 package, but they referred to enabling a different package.
Did the fixes in the wireless-nv2 package get migrated into the general wireless package?
My symptoms are long ping times to the MT and just slow performance.

There is no separate nv2 package for v5rc11, what you saw probably referred to the old v4.

send report to support

4-10ms on wireless is a very good ping result. what is the problem exactly?

I have not seen slowdowns on my Macbook pro connecting to 5.0rc11 yet.

My ping times go real high (sometimes in the 90ms). I've actually removed MT from the equation and have duplicated it on multiple non MT access points when the behavior doesn't exist on other systems.
Validated this behavior with similar spec of Macbook Pro.
On my way to apple store now to duplicate with them.
