Ideal bridge configuration for RouterBoard SXT 5HnD?

Wed Feb 16, 2011 9:50 am

I followed this tutorial to setup my wireless bridge: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Transpare ... o_Networks

I'm wondering if I need WDS enabled and if that's impacting the speed of my connection. I tried some other configurations without any luck. I thought I could use the 'station-bridge' mode that's described in http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Wi ... ion-bridge, but did not see that as an option. Am I missing something?

This setup has been working well. Runs ~48Mb TCP (~24Mb simultaneous up and down). Our link is direct line of site < 200m. I realize the 200Mb data rates advertised may not be possible in practice, so I'm just curious what kind of data rates I should expect with such a short distance.

Anybody have an ideal bridge configuration using these new units?

It's only available if you use Nv2 protocol for wireless, and if you use RouterOS v5rc latest.

Am I correct in assuming I could obtain higher data rates with that mode on a simple bridge?
