Auto Date / Clock configuration in 6.38! Where is coming from?

Mon Jan 30, 2017 10:05 am

I just notice that after installing (on new device) the time and date was set correctly. And it is not set to 1970/1/1 any-more.

From where is this setting coming, how does router know/get correct time?

I am not sure if I want some self-congratulation from RouterOS?

It may come from two places:
  1. /ip cloud, which by default has the following settings: set ddns-enabled=no update-time=yes
  2. The current time is dumped to disk/flash on a regular basis and then restored after reboot.

Thank you for fast response.

I think it is from "cloud" since that was after first start of router.

Ok, good to know the default settings. Thx.

And thanks for setting that as a default, really useful and time saving.
