MikroTik NetMetal 5 with mini pciE + R11e-5HacD

Wed Aug 29, 2018 10:23 am

Hi Guys,

I have a question that I'm battling to find an answer for.

If considering getting a pair of Netmetal 5 + R11e-5HacD + Rocket Dish 30.

I'm hoping to get dual 2x2 chains used in a PTP link with only one Rocket Dish 30, similar to how Ubiquiti AIrfiber does it. Two different frequencies using the same dish.

Any ideas how a person would achieve this?

Regards,

You need splitters. Some will say combiners but a splitter is also a combiner.
You need 2 splitters at each antennas, one that will combine 2 H chains from the radio to the antenna and one more for the V chains.
After that you need to configure 2 separate links and choose a method of bonding.
Splitters and cables might be so expensive that you will find that 4 antennas are cheaper.
Also you know for sure it will work with 4 antennas, not so sure about combining.
